One Week Old

We made it through the first week, and sleep deprivation, starry-eyed delirium, and the absorption of thousands of pages of baby wisdom have finally caught up with us. We are spending a quiet Saturday inside listening to the rain against the window. Gus is celebrating the loss of his cord, which means that mommy and daddy can now spend hours rubbing his little round belly - which is getting bigger! He's already 2.5 ounces over his birth weight.
